How much should I spend on my landscaping?

Great question! There are many different factors when it comes to a landscape project and if you have never done one before, try to think of it as you would any other home remodel.

The most expensive part of the installation is typically the hardscape, so please set aside about 60-75% of your budget towards your new driveway, walkways, and patios. The other remaining 25-40% will go to plants, irrigation, mulch, lighting, carpentry, grading and drainage.

In our experience, even a simple, average sized front yard remodel can cost around $20-40,000 and a backyard around $30,000 and up!

If you have a completed design or are considering working with our professional landscape designer, we would be happy to provide you with an accurate estimate.

We have some 2D drawings for a complete front and backyard landscape including a deck(or possibly a stone patio) and fire pit. We would like to get an estimate and are available weeknights and weekends if possible.

We have the structure of the place done but we want to re-landscape the dirt areas with better plants and just overall design the areas we can in a better way.

    Thank you!

This is a good way to figure out what percentage to figure towards hardscape and what percentage towards plants and shrubs. I have a customer right now that’s a good friend of mine and she asked me about this and I had no idea so I told her I would find out for her and ran across your article. Thanks
